As you know- for my story times this month- I am focusing on books with a Friendship theme. The craft today was provided in my FUNSHINEEXPRESS curriculum preschool kit. That made todays story time easy peasy. Open up the packet- and googly eyes for each fish, colorful tissue paper- for the rainbow scales and then shiny gold paper for the one special scale... all included. The only thing I had to provide for this activity was the Q-tips and glue.
Naturally we had Goldfish crackers for the snack.
We talked about the story, and what made the other fish such good friends. (Spoiler Alert: Rainbow fish loses his scale over the edge of a cliff-- down into the deep of the sea. He meets some new fish down there who help him find his shiny scale.)
